The White Hart is primarily a country pub providing a meeting place for many of the people & groups in Alton which have been formed over the years. There is a running club which meets weekly & holds an annual race day each September when everyone is invited to take part, any money raised goes to charities. There is a quiz night every second Wednesday, in the bar which ihas become so popular it has had to be restricted to 12 teams of four, due to the size & seating availability. Again, any money raised through the raffles etc. is donated to our local charities.There is a book club which meets on the first Monday of every month,Mountain bikers also meet on Mondays.

The pub has 2 pool teams who play on Thursdays throughout the winter months & 2 skittle teams who play on Mondays,also in the winter.

Only this year we managed to build & provide a children’s play area,suitable for 2 to 8 years olds, an amenity which was high on our “to do” list when we originally bought the building & surrounding area. The allotments at the rear are well tended & really add something to the ambience of our gardens. Slowly but surely we are managing to improve everything about the Hart, but it has taken time, money, effort & a lot of commitment .

We like to think that we are a welcoming place for all, our regulars & visitors alike. But we can only survive if we keep our customers happy & that is our hope & intention.
